Easter is well known as one of Spain’s most important religious festivals. Lorca Holy Week dates back centuries but over more recent years the concept of Holy Week has been altered slightly, giving Lorca and its parades a totally unique experience for all. This festival stands out not only for the deep devotion to the Virgin Mary and her relationship with the Holy Week Brotherhoods but also for its horse riding events, chariot style exhibition, stunning handmade silk and gold embroidery, depicting various biblical events and last but not least the rivalry between the 2 main brotherhoods of Paso Blanco and Paso Azul.
This is an unmissable event. These parades are well known worldwide for their individuality and excitement and we can guarantee that you wont see an Easter parade like this anywhere else.
